Seek information on Thomas Larimer and his wife Jenny McKee of Winfield. KS. Thomas Larimer was born in Ohio and died in Winfield, Cowley County, Kansas; he married Jenny McKee, who was born in Indiana and died In Winfield, Kansas; his one child of whom I have information was Ximinia Mae Larimer, who was born in Illinois and died in Winfield, Kansas. She married Samuel Huston Wallace, who is said to have been from Gays, Illinois, which is in Mountrie County, IL but very close to Shelby County, IL, which may indicate that Thomas Larimer and Jenny McKee were married and living in Illinois after their marriage in 1886, perhaps in Shelby or Moultrie County, Illinois. I don't know about your mailer program, but my Netscape has the feature of, when you are making a reply, to send only to the sender, or ALL recipients, so if you select ALL, it will be assured to hit the list. <grin> Steve wrote: > Hi All, > > Thanks for all the replies! You need to LOOK at where the "reply:" is going, on EACH and EVERY list. This is a "given". Surely you can see where the SEND TO is headed in your mailer??? Also, it is polite to quote at least part of the msg to which you are attempting to reply, but not ALL... Steve wrote: > Hi All, > > Thanks for all the replies! Hi All, Thanks for all the replies! I've been happily responding to most who replied, thinking they were going to the list server. NOT! They were all private replies. The list server is not configured to automatically allow the REPLY button to respond to the list -- instead, it replies to the sender privately. I suppose this is the action desired here, but it's no wonder there is very little traffic on the list! :-) It's usual for a list server to configure the Reply-To: header for replies to the list. Anyway, I woke up finally... If no one objects, I'll repost my Smith data to date and maybe I can catch some new data. :-) Thanks, Steve
Hi all, Just subscribed a day or two ago but have received no messages here. Is the list still active? If so, I'm searching Smith surnames in the Cowley County area. Thanks

Some time ago (12-99), I was in touch with Lou Tharp, who had kindly informed me of some information on a individual that I didn't think could fit the profile of the person I was looking for. Thank goodness I printed that email! I have since discovered that the person referenced is exactly who I was after. I have been unable to reach Lou, however, and am hoping there is someone with access to two different census' and can do a look up for me. Lou wrote that in the Ninnescah 1880 Udall Township census was listed Samuel TURNER, age 71. In the Ninnescah 1882 Udall Township census, Samuel TURNER is listed again, aged 72. If anyone has this census onhand, or quick access to it, I would appreciate a lookup. Please contact me through the list or privately at [email protected] for the particulars I am looking for. Thanks everyone, and Happy New Year Susan Anderson www.rootsweb.com/~nekeith/ [email protected] "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. Hello All, Is there anyone who could kindly perform a lookup in the 1870 Cowley County census for William Senseney? I believe he arrived in Kansas at this time in Cowley County, Ninnescah Township, but have not been able to procure a copy of the census through the local library. I would very much appreciate any help. Thank you in advance. K.

I'm ashamed to admit I fell for it. I usually check into these before I do anything, since I have Norton and a firewall and neither caught it. But I deleted it and it didn't shut my computer down. I was told it is a file that techs use when they work on your computer. Don't know how true that is because I am nowhere close to being a tech.
