Is there anyone who has sent me an inquiry that has not received an answer? Please let me know, as I don't want to forget anyone! Just so you know, I am saving your inquiries in a folder and numbering them in order of receipt. However, those with specific dates may get answered quicker. I do have the surnames and page nos. in a doc., so that I can find them faster. The marriages have been completely transcribed all 109, but the funerals have not. There are over 30 pages with approx. 13 entries per page of funerals. As soon as both are transcribed, I will be offering them to the County GenWeb sites. Wilma

Nancy, I have found no Province or Boone in the ledger. Sorry! Wilma
Wilma : Yes please would you look for a record of my great grandmother ? Her name is Lavina Province . I am not sure just when she died , but I think it was between or around 1910 or 1911 , but like I said I am not sure . I know that the family was living in Winfield, Cowley Co. at the time of her death . She was married to Uylsses Grant Boone and had three young children when she died . Bessie Boone , Henry Clay Boone and Howard Grant Boone . I have orderd micro film of the paper there for the years 1908 - 1911 but was unable to find anything about her death . I know that Uylsses called her Ivy or Vinney . My grandmother told me he called her Ivy , but on my grandfather's death certificate ( Henry Clay Boone ) it gives his mother's name as Vinney . I do not know when she was born or who her parents are . I know that Uylsses was born in 1868 and in the picture I have of them she appears to be younger than Uylsses . I could sure use some help on this . Thanks ----- Nancy ( Davis ) Salisbury ------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wilma Fields" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2003 12:53 PM Subject: [KSCOWLEY] Weddings & Funerals > Hi all! > > I have available, the records my Grandfather, Rev. List Members: I am looking for any information concerning Ralph HALLOCK or a variation of that name such as HALLECK or HALLETT. Born 1869 in Iowa. His wife's name is unknown. They would have been married sometime between 1888 and 1892. The connection to Cowley County, Kansas, is that the Charles HALLOCK family ( Ralph was a son of Charles)and the Daniel HALLOCK family were living at Otto, Cowley County, in 1889. In 1893, when Ralph HALLOCK died, a newspaper article mentions that Ralph HALLOCK's wife was living in Udall, Cowley County, Kansas. I have checked the microfilm of the Cowley County, Kansas, 1895 census and not found her. Any information is appreciated. Sincerely, Ken Hallock
Hello, I'm happy to announce a new Special Project, the Kansas Family Group Sheet (FGS) project. It's my privilege to be managing it, and I hope to be very busy adding family group sheets submitted by all of you. The URL for the page is http://www.rootsweb.com/~usfgs/kansas/ . I think you'll find the page easy to read and use, but if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. The USFGS home page (http://www.rootsweb.com/~usfgs/) links to all the states. I hope you'll take advantage of this new project. Those of us who have been working to bring it to Kansas are very excited about its possibilities. Any family group that lived in Kansas, even for a short time, can be posted. THE ONLY PERSONS WHO CANNOT BE POSTED ARE THOSE WHO ARE LIVING. Each family group sheet provides space for basic information about father, mother, and children; so if you only know about one family unit, you know enough to put the information up. If you know more, you can add more family group sheets: the father's parents and siblings, the mother's parents and siblings, the children's spouses and children, and on and on. If you've traced the family into other states, you can post your group sheet in those states as well as Kansas. But just one family sheet in one state can be enough to make new and exciting connections. We've prepared the pages and forms, added search engines and links, and now it's in your hands. Send in your family group sheets. One a day, one a week, whatever works for you. Tell your fellow researchers about the site. Talk about it at your next genealogical society meeting. Mention it in your emails. The more people hear about the site, the more contributions we're likely to get; and the more contributions we receive, the more valuable the project is going to be. I'll be waiting for your family to turn up in my mailbox! Charles Barnum, KS FGS manager I started my genealogy research in Kansas about 40 years ago.
Friends, I am looking for information concerning anyone of the name HALLOCK or HALLETT living Cowley County at or near Udall in the year of 1893. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Ken Hallock

The previous virus alert jdbgmgr.exe was a hoax that has been around for at least a year. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I have had several virus which corrupted several files. With the files I currently hold, there is a lot of hours involved to have one corrupted. I could only think that if it was a real virus, then I would want to know if it was within my system! I know that most virus effect the main internet transmission/ programming files. Phyllis

Would you like EVERY rumor of a virus to be posted on ALL the mailing lists, without confirmation from a verifiable source?, or what? When you get one of these "doom and gloom" warnings, then I guess it is up to YOU to go find out the real skinny, is that what you are saying? Personally, I wish EVERYone would ck the warning BEFORE they automagically post to every address in their address book.
