The brothers had 3 stone houses about a mile apart. Two are still lived in today. My grandfather WILLIAM HENRY SANDERS (b. 1868), one of seven children born in Clay County to HENRY SANDERS and ANGELINA SIMPSON SANDERS. ANGELINA's father JOSEPH SIMPSON also homesteaded in Clay County. Some Sanders buried in Greenwood Cemetery, some in Gatesville Cemetery. MAXWELL SANDERS' firstborn daughter ANN married WILLIAM AKIN SHERBERT of this county. had 15 children, 14 lived. still many descendents of this branch live in Clay County. I am specifically looking for information concerning the seventh child of my g.grandparents, a boy named JOY SANDERS, b. 1891, d. circa 1978. JOY is likewise buried in Gatesville Cemetery.
