I have found in the Times Weekly a mention of her death and her burial: "Dec. 15, 1893 from the Presbyterian Chruch in Clay Center." There is a menion by the ladies of the church in the Dec. 21 edition, re her death. Can ANYONE help discover where she might be buried? Samuel remarried in Aug. 1899 to Bertha Weekly, some relation of the Probate Judge in Clay Center...and they moved on to Kansas City MO by 1910.
Please stop by and visit my Clay Co. "American History and Genealogy Project" page soon. I have added several mini-biographies form the 1901"Clay County Illustrated" and also death records from Aug. 1894-Dec. 1895. I will soon be adding biographies from the 1890 "History of Riley, Clay and Washington Counties of Kansas" -- at least the Clay Co. bios. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ksclay/ Thanks, Sheryl

Sorry, its late and I'm really tired. Daniel Huguin's wife name was Lavinia, not Almira. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Toolbar provides one-click access to Hotmail from any Web page FREE download! http://toolbar.msn.com/go/onm00200413ave/direct/01/
Does anyone have access to cemetery records for Goshen Township? I am trying to find where Christopher & Anna Hunter and Daniel & Almira Hugunin are buried and tombstone transcriptions. Christopher & Anna spent all of their married life in Goshen. They last appeared on the 1900 census. Daniel Hugunin apparently followed several of his siblings to the Kansas/Nebraska area after 1870 and probably married Almira there. He and Almira appeared in Goshen on the 1880 census, but are not there in 1900. Thanks for any help. If you happen to come across a Charles Stewart who died in 1878, let me know. lol I have a photo of his grave, but don't know where he is buried. (I haven't researched it, either.) I love your website. Do you ever plan on including photos there? I have a very rich history of ancestors from the 1870s that settled in Clay County. I have some neat old photos of a threshing bee and one of a Clay County fair. Of course lots of relatives, too, but the former would be of general interest. I also had a small amount of info on some one-room school houses, along with some photos from early turn of the century, and my grandmother's Clay Center annual from...gosh, 1917? I'd have to look. I have emailed the usgenweb clay county site offering look up services for that yearbook but never got a response from them. I did send my info to the Kansas one-room schoolhouse project and it is there, but thought I'd offer since this is county specific. Thanks for taking the time to make a great website. I appreciate your efforts! Can someone advise me on how I can find out about deaths in Clay Center between 1876 and 1884 please? I can't find a great grand-father - James Stuart Johnston - who was in NY in 1876, not in the 1880 census, but his married children - Hemphill, McCully and Rutherford all moved to Clay Center (Broughton) about that time. His wife died there in 1891, so I am hoping he was in that area too. With thanks, Gillian, South Australia
