I believe he married Isabella ?. If someone could look up where abouts he died and any info about his family I would appreciate it. Also I am trying to locate his nephew whom I believe went to Kansas around 1878, his name is Jonathan MacBeth born July 18 1858 in Prince Edward Island. Thank-you
Hi folks-- The plat maps for all townships in 1918 Clay County are now online at the Clay County AHGP site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ksclay/index.html No name indexes yet, so just browse through your township(s) of interest. Thanks, Sheryl
Dear Gillian-- The Clay County Historical Museum has cemetery books for all the cemeteries in the county. The Greenwood Cemetery survey is on a computer database at the museum, too, but unfortunately is not online. The next time I make a run up into Clay County (I live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) I will, if I have time, record the Broughton Cemetery (and put it on the site), and if I don't, I will copy down the names you are looking for from the cemetery books. By the way, I just tonight put the 1918 plat maps for all the townships on the site. No name indexes yet, but you might want to browse through them. Thanks, Sheryl
Congratulations on a great site Sheryl - you have produced so much information. One question - are there are graves recorded at the Broughton cemetery? Best wishes, Gillian, South Australia
I have transcribed the births from 1886 (about 130 names) and also added more biographies from the "Portrait and Biographical Album of Washington, Clay and Riley Counties". Please visit the page at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ksclay/index.html Thanks! Sheryl

I think she is the last one buried there. I would like to have a list of those buried in this cemetary, as many of the graves are not marked. This is a family cemetary for our family, and my grandfather was very active in keeping this cemetary up while he was alive. He spent alot of time keeping up this cemetary. He was in charge of the cemetary, until his health failed and had to turn it over to someone else. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Beth

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wl.2ADE/87 Message Board Post: Could someone tell me who is in charge of keeping up the Wilson Cemetery? I always decorate my mother's grave, several times during the year. I was a little dissappointed in the condition of it this past Memorial Day. I am wondering if I might volunteer to help with it, if this is the case. I am also wondering if there is anyway that the unmarked graves can be marked with some kind of stones? Several years ago, someone had gone through and marked some of the unmarked graves with red flags. Is there a map of these location of graves? Any help or correspondence of this matter would be greatly appreciated. I know that my grandparents put alot of time and energy into this small cemetery when they were alive, and I would like to carry on this tradition. Beth

Being a proud member of this great group, I've noticed it's a bit quiet lately, although I belong to a few Genie Groups I always look forward to my digest download from my Clay County Group. I realise many of you are either local or certainly US local however us Aussie's are a little distant from all of you. My cousin Gillian in Adelaide [State of South Australia] is looking to purchase a book and I'm looking forward to reading it too, but I'm in Melbourne [State of Victoria] and will have to wait until [When and if Gillian can purchase it] she digests it all... If any of you can help or suggest where she can obtain & buy it, it would be really appreciated, details are: "It is a Heritage Book, published 1990 by the Clay County Historical Society. We are very interested in the area as my great grandfather's sisters - Hannah McCully, Marjory hemphill and Margaret Rutherford went to Broughton c. 1885 with their families and parents Margaret and James Johnston". Best Wishes Don in a cool, with cold mornings and great days- Melbourne AU
