Note that this is only Clay Center Twp.--it does not include the city of Clay Center. I regret that the Clay Center Twp. census images are not as easy to read as some of the other townships. You might want to get out your magnifying glasses for some of the birth dates. (Note to Gillian--10a has some of your family, and I saw some of the names you mentioned on some of the other CC Twp. pages) _http://www.rootsweb.com/~ksclay/_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~ksclay/) Happy Hunting! I have put the 1870 census images on the Clay County AHGP website: _http://www.rootsweb.com/~ksclay/_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~ksclay/) No index, you'll just have to browse through each township. There were only three townships on the 1870 census: Clay Center, Republican and Sherman. Let me know if you find any broken links; I tried to check all the pages, but may have missed one or two. Sheryl
I'll put Clay Center at the top of list! I also made copies of the 1870 for the county (at that time it was only Republican, Sherman and Clay Center) and I will get those on the site within the next couple of days. Sheryl

<<<......Dr. William Eagleson (he was a dentist) living in Cloud Co., which borders Clay Co. on the northeast>>>> Oops, sorry, Cloud Co. borders Clay on the NW! Sheryl
Hi-- I don't have a directory of Clay Co. for the 1940's, so I don't know if Dr. Eagleson was there at that time, but in the 1930 census there was a Dr. William Eagleson (he was a dentist) living in Cloud Co., which borders Clay Co. on the northeast. His wife was Mary, and he had daughters Helen and Mary, and sons William, James and Thomas who in 1930 were about 8, 6 and 4 years old, respectively. Sheryl
Was there a DR Eagleson in Clay Center during the 1940's? I am trying to locate a friend of my aunt, and I believe DR Eagleson was his father. thanks g2 gayle1@wheatstate.com
