I have searched for 11 years now for any evidence that my grandfather existed. Bert Mills was probably from Baxter Springs or Ft. Scott, KS. He married my grandmother, Stella Carroll (marriage not found), who was of Joplin & Pittsburg, KS. My dad (Guy Edward Mills) was born to them 2/14/08 in Oklahoma City, OK (no record of his birth was recorded). Bert supposedly died when dad was a baby. I have searched OK, MO, & KS w/o any luck for a marriage, a death,a census, newspaper article, funeral home record or a cemetery record. There seems to be nothing on Bert Mills. I do know Bert laid the first gas lines into OK (I've even written to oil companies with no luck) and that he had a brother named Charles who supposedly died in the Joplin, MO area in the 1970's . I have also found a note of my mother's saying he died in Denver, no records there either... Any help, ideas, or miracles would be greatly appreciated!
