I too am wondering about death and burial records in Fort Scott. Does anyone know the availability of information if state records do not show a death? I am looking for Margaret McALEVY in about 1872, and John McALEVY in about 1883. Is there an index of obituaries? How readily available are older obituaries? Does anyone have experience with local church records? In particular, my two were associated with Queen of Angels and probably St. Patricks in Fulton (or Freedom, as it was so-named in 1870). Chris
