    3. The Topeka Daily State Journal Thursday June 20, 1918 James Booth Funeral. Civil War Veteran Who Died Wednesday Lived Here Almost 50 Years. The funeral of James BOOTH, pioneer Topeka resident who died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.H. ROEBUCK, 941 Monroe, will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Lowman Memorial church. Had he lived a few more months Mr. Booth would have been a resident of Topeka 50 years. He was born in Philadelphia in 1830 and came to this city in 1869, privious to which time he served in the Civil war as a member of Company H, 1190 regiment, Illinois volunteer infantry. He was a member of Lincoln Post, G.A.R., and was well known in church circles. Mrs. Booth died in January 1917, shortly after the celebrations of their sixty-third wedding anniversary. Mr. Booth was 88 years old. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. F.H. Roebuck and two sons, S.A. Booth of Pueblo, Colo., and J.H. Booth of Topeka.
