    3. The Topeka Daily State Journal Monday June 24, 1918 Boy Killed By Truck. Topeka Lad Ran in Front of Machine Driven by Frank Mackie. Otis HART, the 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hart, 810 West Seventeenth street, died Saturday night following injuries received at 7:30 o'clock the same evening when he ran in front of a motor truck driven by Frank Mackie, Maple Hill. The accident occurred at Seventeenth and Fillmore streets. The front wheel passed over the boy's head and his skull was fractured. Medical aid failed to save his life. Mrs. Hart, the mother of the boy, place no blame on the driver of the truck, saying the machine was going slowly and Otis ran in front of it.
