The Topeka Daily State Journal Wednesday June 19, 1918 Topeka Soldier Dead. Corporal W.H. Glass Drowned at Rockwell Field, California. Word has been received in Topeka of the death of Corporal William Hubert GLASS, former Topeka boy, at the Rockwell aviation field, San Diego, Cal. The telegram announcing the death was received by Mrs. Glenn R. Glass, sister-in-law, and said that Corporal Glass was drowned. Corporal Glass was a graduate of Topeka high school. He was known to his schoolmates as an all-around athlete and one year was placed as an all-Missouri valley high school half back. He enlisted in the medical corps of the regular army shortly after war was declared and his company was attached to the Rockwell school. Corporal Glass is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Glass, and two brothers, Sergt. Glenn R. Glass of Fort Riley and R.E. Glass of Cincinnati, O.
