The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday November 1, 1879 Mr. F.W. WARD and Miss Belle PROCTOR were united in marriage, at 7:30 o'clock a.m., October 27, 1879, at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. J.S. Proctor, of Scott township, this county, Rev. Charles Adair, of Osawatomie, being the officiating clergyman in charge. The happy couple started the same morning for Buffalo, Wilson county, this State. Mr. Ward at one time the editor of the Linn County Tribune, formerly published in La Cygne, and the bride is one of Scott township's best known daughters. The Journal tenders thanks for a sample of the delicious wedding cake and wishes Mr. and Mrs. Ward may live long and joyously.
