The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday January 3, 1880 Died. McCARTY.--December 28, 1879, in Osage county, Kan., while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Sarah McCARTY, of Scott township, Linn county, Kan. The deceased was born in Bracken county, Ky. She removed from Kentucky, with her husband, Nathaniel McCarty to Lee county, Iowa, and in 1857, to Scott township, Linn county, Kan. She was 62 years of age. For a number of years she was a consistent and devoted member of the Christian church. In the death of this estimable woman seven loving children have suffered a sad bereavement and society has lost the example of an exemplary Christian. Her remains were laid by the side of her husband in Pleasant Home Cemetery, Scott township.
