The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday April 12, 1879 Mrs. Mary P. LINDSAY, aged 74 years, residing seven miles northeast of La Cygne, met with a sad fate last Saturday. At about 4 o'clock in the afternoon of that day she stepped out of the house, when she was attacked by a cow, which hooked her so badly that she survived but a short time. The deceased was buried on Sunday, at the Cameron graveyard, near Rockville, a large funeral procession following her remains to their last earthly resting place. Mrs. Lindsay was the mother of John T. Lindsay, of this city, who desires, through the Journal, to express his gratitude to the many friends who kindly rendered assistance at the time of her death and burial.
