The Washington Register Washington County Thursday June 16, 1904 J.B. BESACK, a former resident of this city died at his home in Blue Rapids Sunday, June 5. The deceased was 67 years of age. Two daughters and one son survive him. The funeral was held at his home, and the remains interred in the Blue Rapids cemetery. Mr. Besack, the deceased, resided many years in this city, during which time he was editor of the Register. While each of these papers were under his control they were considered Repubican papers; as he was a stalwart and consistent exponent of the Republican faith. He was a fluent and courageous writer in his chosen profession, and will be kindly remembered by his many friends in this city and county.
