The Topeka Daily State Journal Friday May 17, 1918 Pioneer Topekan Dies. Mrs. Catherine Maier Resident of This City Since, 1867. Mrs. Catherine MAIER, 72 years old, died this morning at her home, 1002 West Fifth street, after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Maier was born in Ulm, Wurtemburg, Germany, May 24, 1846. She came to the United States in 1867 and was married to Christian Maier at Topeka, October 18, 1867. She is survived by her husband, and by six children: Emilla C. of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. W.F. BURCH of Denver, Colo; William C., of El Reno, Okla.; Max H. and Carl R. both of Chicago, and Mrs. F.E. LITTLETON of Topeka. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from the home. Burial in Topeka cemetery.
