    1. [KS-OLD-NEWSPAPERS] A Strange Death: Mr. W.H. WILLIAMS
    2. Jim Laird
    3. The Brewster Gazette Thomas County Saturday September 8, 1888 A Strange Death. Mr. W.H. WILLIAMS, brother of Iam Williams of this county, and Father-in-law of Chas. KOVAR living two miles from Colby. Mr. Williams was on his way from Colorado to his former home in Iowa. He and his family stopped at Mr. Kovers house last Tuesday night. Mr. Williams complained of not feeling well in the evening, sometime in the night he got up and went out of doors. That was the last seen of him, until his body was found in a draw by Mr. Lee of Colby, about 11 o'clock the next day. The body was found with the head, face downward, in a water hole. A Coroners inquest was held and verdict rendered, that Williams met his death by falling into the water hole and strangling to death. The deceased was 57 years old, and the supposition is that in walking along he fell into the hole and was to weak to get up and thus strangled to death.
