The Topeka Daily Capital Monday May 24, 1965 Denny Whalen Is Dead at 85. Osage City.--Denny WHALEN, 85, Osage City, died Sunday at the home of a son here. He was bonrn Feb. 20, 1880 at Osage City and was a life long resident here. He was a retired farmer and coal miner. Mr. Whalen was a member of the St. Patricks Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, James Whalen, Ernest Whalen and Donald Whalen, a daugther, Mrs. Katherine BURGER and a brother, Robert Whalen, all of Osage City; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church here with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Osage City. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m today at McElfresh and Son Mortuary here.
