The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday August 10, 1900 Jessie H. WILKERSON, who died August 5th, was born in Platt Co., Mo., July 23rd, 1869. He was 31 years old at the time of death. He with his parents came to Kansas in 1880, and settled in this vicinity where he since lived. He was of a family of 8 children, 5 girls, and 3 boys--three of whom have preceded him to the other world. He followed the carpenter trade and had gone to Oklahoma where he was at work, when he was taken sick with typhoid fever, soon after which he was brought home. He seemed to mend slowly and all entertained hopes of recovery, but on last Friday afternoon he was taken worse and on Sunday afternoon died.
