The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday March 6, 1880 The Journal sincerely regrets to make the announcement that the La Cygne Exchange Bank has been obliged to suspen operations for the present. The institution made an assignment, February 25, 1880, to James D. SNODDY, for the benefit of its creditors and the latter have been notified that a meeting will be held at Mound City, March 18, 1880, at 5 o'clock p.m, for the purpose of choosing an assignee to adminster the estate of the assignor. The liabilities of the bank amount to a large sum, but the stockholders are men of considerable property, of long good standing in the community, and they manifest a commendable disposition to see that none of those to whom they are indebted shall lose anything. The suspension is temporarily a misfortune for the town as well as the creditors and stockholders of the bank.
