    3. The Valley Falls New Era Thursday September 2, 1909 Double Wedding. Wednesday evening the Methodist church was beautifully decorated, the occasion being the double wedding of Mr. Albert STEWART and Miss Elsie GRIFFITTS and Mr. Harry COOK and Miss Nell GRIFFITTS, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Day, in the presence of a church full of admiring friends and relatives. At the appointed hour the bridal party entered the church preceded by Misses Josie HATFIELD, Jessie KNOUSE, Ethel FIFER, Daisy STEWART, Bertha GRIFFITTS and Mamie HIGGS, of Lyons; Melva HANN, of Admire; and Maidie HOUGH, of Wetmore, as bridesmaids, and little Misses Mildred KERR and Margaret DEAN as flower girls; the wedding march being played by Miss Ione HAMBLE. At the altar the party was met by Rev. Day, who in a most impressive and appropriate manner pronounced the ceremony that joined the lives of these couples for aye. After the ceremony at the church a reception for the families and the bridesmaids was held at the Griffitts home. The Misses Griffitts, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. W. Griffitts have lived here all their lives and are among the most popular young ladies of the city. Mr. Cook eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fon Cook has grown to manhood here and is a young man of whom his friends have reason to be proud. Mr. Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Stewart, while not having lived here so long as the others, has proven himself an exemplary yougn man and surely the wedding bells which solemnized this occasion will never cause to ring out of tune. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart go to Baldwin, where Mr. Stewart has two more years in school to prepare himself for the ministry; and Mr. and Mrs. Cook will go to Kansas City where Mr. Cook will graduate next year inthe Kansas City Dental College. May joy, long life, and prosperity be their lot is the wish of all their friends, in which wish this paper joins.
