The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday June 12, 1880 A stabbing affray, in which H.A. ROBINSON, of Mound City, received nine serious gashes about the head and face, from William McALLISTER, of Scott township, occurred last Saturday at the residence of A. GARL, seven miles west of La Cygne. It is said that the cause of the attack was jealousy in a love affair, and that after McAllister had seen what he had done he regretted the assault. Dr. J.M. WELCH, of this city, was called upon to dress the wounds of the afflicted man. Mr. Robinson is about 24 years old. We understand that he is connected with the management of the county poor farm. McAllister fled the county to escape arrest.
