The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday August 17, 1878 George McAULLEY and John MILLER, two young men of Sheridan township, were drowned while bathing in the Marais des Cygne, at the mouth of Muddy Creek last Sunday. I did not learn particulars of the drowning.
