The Valley Falls New Era Jefferson County Thursday June 23, 1910 Death of Madge Wilson. Madge, little seven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. WILSON of Linwood, Kan., died at Bell Hospital in Kansas City, Thursday, June 16, 1910, where she had been taken for an operation for liver trouble, from which she had been a sufferer since November. Local physicians and the most skilled specialists failed to give any relief and she grew gradually worse till an operation was decided on as a last resort. The operation performed at noon Tuesday resulted in finding and removing two small tumors completely closing the gall duct. She survived the operation and Wednesday strong hopes were entertained of her recovery; but internal hemorrhage set in on Thursday and at evening she passed away. Little Madge was a most bright and affectionate child, and leaves a sorrow among family and friends never to be forgotten. The remains were brought to Linwood, Friday morning, where friends adminstered to the comfort of the bereaved ones at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred BOWEN. Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. church at 1:30 o'clock after which burial followed in Linwood cemetery. A beautiful boquet of white carnations from the Royal Neighbors, of which Mrs. Wilson was a member, were among the floral offerings. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson formerly lived near Valley Falls. Mrs. W. being a daughter of Frank VANGASSBECK of North Cedar.
