The Holton Signal Jackson County Thursday February 23, 1922 Burns Fatal To Arrington Boy. Ivan KENNEDY, 13 year old son of Mrs. Charles ANDERSON, southwest of Arrington, died Sudnay afternoon from burns suffered about 11 o'clock that morning, when he threw a lighted match into a gasoline barrel. Ivan had been told that if a lighted match were thrown into a empty barrel it would go out. He did not know the barrel contained two gallons of gasoline. All his clothing was burned from his body except his shoes. Mrs. Anderson was severely burned in an attempt to extinguish the flames. The boy lived with his mother and step father on the C.P. Humphrey farm one mile west and one south of Arrington.
