The Holton Signal Jackson County Thursday April 27, 1922 Sumpter--McCracken. The marriage of Miss Mary SUMPTER of Delia and Mr. George McCRACKEN of Valley Falls took place in Holton yesterday afternoon at 6 o'clock at the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Stephenson, 513 New York, the ceremony performed by Rev. J.M. Manion. The wedding march was played by Miss Winona Woodburn. The house was decorated with palms and ferns. Following the ceremony a wedding supper was served. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sumpter and is a graduate of the Pittsburg Normal school. Since her graduation she has been teaching school. Mr. McCracken is a mail carrier on a rural route out of Valley Falls. The young couple will make their home on a farm near Valley Falls. Out of town guests at the wedding included the bride's aunt, Mrs. A.K. Darby of Baltimore, and Mr. and Mrs. Minnie DINNING of St. Joe.
