    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Tuesday February 2, 1911 Peter McKinlay Died Yesterday. Was An Old Residenter In Independence Since 1871. Was Not Even Sick in Bed, But a Bad Cold Was Too Much for Him and He Succumbed. Peter McKINLAY, one of Independence's oldest citizens died yesterday at his home on North Twelfth street. Mr. McKinlay had a severe cold and owning to his advanced age, it proved too much for hsi strength. He was not even sick in bed and had only been feeling badley a couple of days. Deceased was born in Glasgow, Scotland, June 2, 1824, and came to Independence in 1871. He has since lived here. Surviving him are his wife and four children. The children are Miss Jean McKinlay, of Denver, Colo., Peter McKinlay, Jr., of Garfield, Ark., Mrs. Margaret McKAY, of Independence, and Mrs. Agnes PARKS, of Kansas City. They are all here for the funeral. The funeral will be held from the family residence, 531 North Twelfth street on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
