The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday February 5, 1881 Little Gertrude Olive, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. STURTEVANT, died Tuesday night at their home in this city at the age of about 4 years, after a severe illness of several days' duration. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the family residence, Rev. I.N. Morehead, pastor of the Methodist church, conducting the ceremony. The remains were deposited in the cemetery northwest of town. "Gertie," was a bright and winsome child whose departure from this life is one of those sad losses which seem so hard to bear, and yet must be endured. The family, in their bereavement, will have the universal sympathy of all who know them and learn of their misfortune, while the absent daughter has only gone to a brighter and better world beyond.
