The Washington Register Washington County Thursday May 19, 1904 Edwin Sherman SHAFER was born May 26, 1866, in Monongthela county, West Virginia. Died at his home nine miles north of Clifton, April 14, 1904. At the age of fourteen his parents moved to Henry county, Illinois, and in 1884 moved to Kansas. In about a year Edwin returned to Illinois and soon after was converted to the Christian faith. Returning to Kansas three years afterward he has made his home here since. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Morgan at the St. Paul church and the remains were placed in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Clifton. The deceased leaves a father, two brothers, and five sisters, who have the sympathy of the entire neighborhood in this, their time of sorrow.--Clifton News.
