The Washington Register Washington County Thursday May 12, 1904 Clerk of the Court. A.H. FOOTE, clerk of the court, is also a candidate for renomination. Mr. Foote was an early pioneer in this county and is so well and favorably known as a veteran of the war for the union, a good citizen, a steadfast republican, and competent reliable official, that words of praise from us are unnecessary. Mr. Foote was elected two years ago to the office, which he now holds, b a good majority and he has been so prompt and reliable in the performance of his duties that no one thinks of opposing him for renomination. While the people honored with the position, he honored the position as it was known in advance that he would. While it is not a very renumerative office the responsibilities are of such a nature as to require it to be in the hands of a competent and reliable man and we assert, without reservation that no more suitable person can be found than Mr. Foote the present incumbent. He should be renominated by acclamation and unanimously re-elected.
