The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday August 12, 1882 The sad intelligence was received here on Wednesday morning that Dr. J.M. CARPENTER, of New Lancaster, the evening previous, while laboring under a fit of insanity, had committed suicide, by cutting his throat with a razor. The doctor had been in ill health for some time past and it is supposed that was the cause of his rash deed.
