    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday February 18, 1920 Miss Maude Barnes Dies. Death Occurs While She Is Spending Winter in Florida. Miss Maude A. BARNES, 1273 Clay street, died Sunday night in St. Petersburg, Fla., where she had gone with her sister, Miss Gertrude Barnes, to spend the winter. The body is being brought to Topeka and probably will arrive Thursday night. Funeral announcements will be made later. Miss Barnes was a daughter of the late J.P. Barnes, and was well known in Topeka. She was actively connected with the Daughters of The American Revolution, Woman's club, and other Topeka organizations. In addition to her sister, Miss Gertrude Barnes, Miss Barnes is survived by one brother, Eugene Barnes, of Meriden, Kan. Another brother, Fred Barnes died last fall. Miss Mabel Barnes, a twin sister, and another sister, Dr. Ida Barnes, died in Topeka a few years ago.
