The Oskaloosa Independent Jefferson County Saturday July 8, 1876 The sickness and death of Mrs. Wm. POSEY was peculiarly sad. She was a daughter of Mr. Samuel STRAWN. The funeral was very large. The order of Patrons of Husbandry performed the burial ceremonies. The discourse delivered by Dr. Wilson. "As thy days thy strength shall be" was very fine. It did all good that heard it. The bereft husband and children have the sympathies of the entire community. Almost every household has been afflicted in this community. Almost every home has been robbed of a member, so their sympathies are deep and heartfelt.(Valley Falls Reporter, July 5, 1876.)
