The Topeka Daily State Journal Wednesday July 30, 1919 Dies From Injuries. Accident Fatal to Mrs. Sarah Donnelley, Negro Woman. Mrs. Sarah DONNLLEY, 1014 Lane street, died at 9:15 o'clock this morning at Christ hospital, the result of being struck with an automobile at Fifth street and Kansas avenue at midnight Tuesday. She is a negro. Walter Monroe, a negro soldier from Lawrence, was arrested by the police and charged with reckless driving and was released on a $100 bond this morning. Mrs. Donnelley was returning from the big negro celebration at Grafield park when the accident occurred. It is said she was dragged about ten feet by the machine which turned around at Fifth street and ran into her.
