    3. The McLouth Times Jefferson County Friday August 13, 1909 The death of Frank EDMONDS at Excelsior Springs, Monday evening was a sad ennding to a trip to regain lost health. Mr. Edmonds in company with his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Edmonds had gone to the Springs two weeks before but was unable to get relief from his trouble. Sunday evening a message came that Frank was very low and Mrs. Edmonds and their oldest son, Milt Edmonds and Harry GENSLER went Sunday night with Albert WILKINS in his big touring car. They left here about 11 o'clock and arrived at Excelsior at 6 o'clock next morning and we understand that Mr. Edmonds knew them. Tuesday morning they brought hime home on the 11 o'clock train. The remains wre taken to the home north of town Tuesday afternoon and the funeral was held at the Edmonds church Wednesday at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. E. McAferty. The burial was at Fowler cemetery. Frank Edmonds was a man highly esteemed by all who knew him and his untimely death was indeed a sad blow to his family and relatives.

    3. The Harper Advocate Harper County Thursday August 10, 1922 Palmer--Ellis. A quiet wedding took place Saturday evening, July 29th, at six o'clock when Miss Esther PALMER and Harry E. ELLIS were married. The ceremony was performed at the Methodist Parsonage, 609 San Juan Ave., LaJunta, Colo., the Rev. C.B. Steele officating using an impressive ring service. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. B. ELLIS of LaJunta. The bride is a daughter of W.E. Palmer of this city and is a popular member of the younger set. The groom is a son of Arthur Elllis of Terryton, and is in the employ of the signal department of the A.T.& S.F. Ry. Co., at Raton, N.M., where they are making their home. Their many friends wish them much happiness.

    3. The Harper Advocate Harper County Thursday June 22, 1922 Stevens-Hall. The marriage of Miss Alice Opal STEVENS and Mr. Chas. HILL was solemnized at the Presbyterian Parsonage at 9 o'clock last Sunday morning. The Rev. W.G. Hall, officiating. Mrs. Hall is a daughter of John Stevens of near Duquoin, and is a young lady who is well talented for the new duties she has assumed, that of home maker. The groom is the son of Frances Hall, who resides near Duquoin and is a young man of sterling qualities. He is counted as one of Harper County's most promising young farmers. The young people will make their home on a farm north and east of Harper. The Advocate joins in wishing them the best of success and happiness in their married life. (Note: Originial article had Miss Alice Opal Stevens marrying Mrs. Chas. Hall. I took the liberty of correcting that.)

The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday April 12, 1879 Mr. George FOSTER died of consumption at 6 o'clock, Thursday morning, at the residence of his brother, Mr. Charles Foster, near La Cygne. The deceased was a middle-aged man, unmarried, one of the first residents of La Cygne, but had not lived here much of late years. He leaves many friends, both in this city and elsewhere, who will regret his demise.

    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday April 12, 1879 Mrs. Mary P. LINDSAY, aged 74 years, residing seven miles northeast of La Cygne, met with a sad fate last Saturday. At about 4 o'clock in the afternoon of that day she stepped out of the house, when she was attacked by a cow, which hooked her so badly that she survived but a short time. The deceased was buried on Sunday, at the Cameron graveyard, near Rockville, a large funeral procession following her remains to their last earthly resting place. Mrs. Lindsay was the mother of John T. Lindsay, of this city, who desires, through the Journal, to express his gratitude to the many friends who kindly rendered assistance at the time of her death and burial.

WELCH, Wednesday evening at 7:30, Miss Edith WELCH and Mr. Otis NUTTER were united in marriage, Rev. Horn of Morrowville officiating. Only immediate relatives and friends were present at the ceremony after which an elegant supper was served. The bride and groom are both highly respected in the community and will be at home to their many friends at Morrowville.

Holton.--Henry PURTZER, 95, Netawaka, died here Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. W.O. GRUNDEMAN, after a long illness. He was born Dec. 24, 1869, at Evanston, Ind. He was a blacksmith at Netawaka from 1896 until 1953 when he retired. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Netawaka. Survivors include two other daughters, Mrs. Alma Pinney, Salina, and Mrs. Charlotte BEATY, Dallas, Tex.; two sons, Clarence Purtzer, Kansas City, Mo., and Arnlod Purtzer, Norton; a sister, Mrs. Mary MUELLER, Sedalia, Mo.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Netawaka with burial in Netawaka Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home at Holton is in charge of arrangements.

OVERLANDER were united in marriage by Elder Young in the presence of about seventy guests. After the ceremony all were invited to partake of the good thingss that go to make up an excellent supper.     3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday April 5, 1879 Mr. David ORENDORF died of pneumonia, Tuesday morning, at his residence some seven miles north of La Cygne. He was 64 years old last January. He had lived on the farm where he passed the last moments of his life, for a number of years, and had made his home surroundings pleasant and attractive. He leaves a family and numerous friends to mourn his loss. Mr. Orendorf was one of the stockholders of the La Cygne Exchange Bank in this city, and for a long time had been accustomed to transact business here. He was consequently well known in this city, and being held in high esteem here the announcement of his death was received with sincere regret. He was buried Thursday at New Lancaster, Miami county, the funeral being an unusually large one.
