Harry Lynn, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee HUFF of East Thirteenth Street died at his home at six o'clock last Friday morning. Funeral services were held at the home on Friday afternoon, September 29th at four o'clock.

    3. The Harper Advocate Harper County Thursday September 28, 1922 Lota HOWELL was born July 7, 1904 at Danville, Kans. Died Sept. 17, 1922 at Okmulgee, Okla. Age 18 years, 2 months and 10 days. She was married to Claude PARISH, November 30, 1921. She was converted under the ministry of Rev. Wm. Lambert and united with the Mennonite Brethren in Christ church April 29, 1919, under the pastorate of E.D. Young. She lived a devoted christian life and leaves to mourn her loss a husband, father, mother, four sisters and four brothers, besides a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.A. Berry of Jet, Okla. Interment was made in the Hillsdale cemetery.

Miss Clara KING and Mr. Joseph ZIMMERMAN of Protection, were married Sunday Sept. 10th at the home of the bride's parents, C.K. KING on East Eighth. The bride's brother, H.J. King preformed the ceremony. Only the immediate relatives were present. Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman will make their home at Protection.

The Harper Advcoate Harper County Thursday September 14, 1922 Carpenter--Merrill A wedding of interest to many Harper people occurred last Monday, September 12, at Nonata, Okla., when Mr. Ruah MERRILL of this city and Miss Evelyn CARPENTER of Nonata, Okla., were united in marriage at nine o'clock p.m. by the Presbyterian minister of that city. Mrs. Merrill is the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter of Nonata, Okla., and for the past few years has made her home in that city. Mr. Merrill has been employed at the Harper Bakery for the past few months, and the quality of the bread he makes, speaks well for his chosen occupation. The young couple will make their home on East Main.

    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday January 110, 1880 The wife of Mr. William J. TYLER died in this city on Tuesday night. Besides her husband, who is a bridge carpenter on the Gulf road, she leaves a family of five children to mourn her loss.

    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday January 3, 1880 Died. McCARTY.--December 28, 1879, in Osage county, Kan., while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Sarah McCARTY, of Scott township, Linn county, Kan. The deceased was born in Bracken county, Ky. She removed from Kentucky, with her husband, Nathaniel McCarty to Lee county, Iowa, and in 1857, to Scott township, Linn county, Kan. She was 62 years of age. For a number of years she was a consistent and devoted member of the Christian church. In the death of this estimable woman seven loving children have suffered a sad bereavement and society has lost the example of an exemplary Christian. Her remains were laid by the side of her husband in Pleasant Home Cemetery, Scott township.

    3. The Washington Republican-Register Washington County Friday April 13, 1906 Mrs. M. Parrish. Mrs. Milcah PARRISH was born Oct. 24th, 1832 and died last Monday April 9th. The funeral services were conducted from the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.R. BOND last Tuesday, by Rev. Hageman. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom survive her including Mrs. Bond and T.H. Parrish of this city.

    3. The Washington Republican-Register Washington County Friday April 13, 1906 Miss Anna GRESSMAN and Mr. Marion A. HYLAND were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geroge Gressman, two miles west of town, Wednesday evening, April 11, 1906. Miss Lottie KING played the wedding march, Mr. Joseph Gressman acted as best man. The bride, and Miss Rheua Hyland maid of honor, were dressed in white and carried carnations. The Rev. J.W.R. Clardy, pronounced the words that made the happy pair man and wife. Eighty invited guests partook of the bounteous wedding supper. Mr. and Mrs. Frank PIERCE, Mr. and Mrs. WYMAN and sons, and Mr. Ezra LINES of Haddam, and Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Hyland, Ralph H. Hyland and Mr. and Mrs. KOZEL of Morrowville were among the guests. The young people are well known in the community, and enter this new relation with the best wishes of a multitude of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Hyland will be at home to their friends on a farm four miles west of Washington after April 20th.

    3. The Washington Republican-Register Washington County Friday April 6, 1906 C. D. Molby. Another respected citizen of this county was laid to rest last week in the person of C.D. MOLBY of Barnes. Mr. Molby was born Jan. 6, 1844, and died March 28, 1906, of bladder trouble, after an illness of two weeks. He was married Feb. 13, 1866, and was the father of three children, two of whom are living. He also leaves a wife, two brothers and a sister. The funeral services were conducted from the residence three miles northwest of Barnes, where the deceased has lived since 1870 with the exception of eight years spent in Virginia. Rev. A.L. Day conducted the services and the remains were laid to rest in the Maplewood cemetery.

    3. The Washington Republican-Register Washington County Friday April 6, 1906 Word was received here Monday of the death of Mrs. MUNCH mother of Emma Munch and Mrs. Will and Charlie NEU. Mrs. Munch was residing in Dewight, Kansas to which place her daughters departed Tuesday Tuesday to attend the funeral. This news was a painful surprise as Mrs. Munch had been condsidered in the best of health.

    3. The Washington Republican-Register Washington County Friday April 6, 1906 We are sorry to announce the death of the little four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert DILLER. She was sick only a few days with that dreaded disease, scarlet fever. The funeral was held at the house and the remains laid to rest in the Washington cemetery. The Republican-Register extends its sympathy to the bereaved family.

    3. The Washington Republican-Register Washington County Friday March 30, 1906 Mrs. Rebecca Ellen Haxton. Died, at ther home near Fact, Kansas, March 19, 1906, at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 19 days. Miss Rebecca Ellen WILLIAMSON, was born in Lee County, Iowa, June 11, 1850, where she resided until the age of 16, when she moved to Kansas, with her fathers family. She was united in marriage with Mr. Thos. HAXTON, July 13, 1879. To this union four children were born. She endured an illness of three months and nineteen days, which she bore patiently. She leaves a husband, two sons and two daughters; three brothers and two sisters and a host of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held at the Fact, U.B. church conducted by Brother Holbert. The remains were laid to rest in the Appleton cemetery. We desire to extend our thanks to the friends and neighbors of this community for their kindness during the illnes and death of our beloved wife and mother. Mr. Thos. Haxton and Family.

    3. The Washington Republican-Register Washington County Friday March 30, 1906 Sadie Mayer. Died, little Sadie the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. MAYER, after a short illness. Sadie was a bright little girl being one year and twenty-six days old, when she was called to sleep with Jesus. Services were conducted in the St. Bernard Catholic church at Clara, by Father Baumstler, where her body was laid to rest. Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Mayer wish to express their thanks to their many friends who so kindly assisted our darling.

Blue, of Mound City, and the groom is one of Linn county's best known physicians. The Journal wishes the newly wedded couple long life and happiness.

    3. The Valley Falls New Era Jefferson County Thursday July 21, 1910 Threshing Machines Humming. All the mail carriers, but one reported the starting of threshing machines on their routes Monday. Ben GRIFFIN on route one did not see a thresher on his way. Geo. McCRACKEN on route two noticed John ALLEN threshing for himself. Roy JACKSON on route three found the GREEN Bros. threshing for themselves. Henry McCOY on route four observed Frank SCHULTZ threshing for Geo. THOMPSON. Sample TRIMBLE on route five discovered two machines going. OWENS and MILLER separating for STICE, and IRWIN threshing a fine field of wheat for E.C. STEWART.

    3. The Harper Advocate Harper County Thursday September 14, 1922 Reunion of Class of 21. A reunion of the class of 1921 of Harper High School was held at the home of Miss Anna FITZPATRICK on Wednesday, August 23. The evening was spent playing games, singing, and talking over old school days and the new experiences they had encountered in their new profesions and college work. All enjoyed the evening and departed, hoping they would have the opportunity of meeting again soon. The members present were: Miss Virginia BEESON, Faye BROWN, Nellye CROW, Ruby TITUS, Lulu MARVIN, Reva SHEPHERD, Lucie MONTGOMERY, Francis WISLER, Marguerite LaPLANT, Ida LAIRD, Anna FITZPATRICK, Andrew TITUS and Carrol NOEL.

    3. The Harper Advocate Harper County Thursday September 7, 1922 James William Snead. James William SNEAD was born near Nashville, Tenn., Feb. 19, 1835 and departed this life at 5:30 p.m., September 3, 1922, age 87 years, 6 months and 14 days. He was married twice. To the first union were born 12 children, 10 girls and 2 boys. To the second union were born 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. Seven of his children have preceeded him in death, one, Marion who spent his entire life at Danville. Mr. Snead came to Kansas at an early date and was one of the earliest settlers. He was converted early in life and united with Baptist church and lived a consistent Christian all his life. He was always willing to let people know where he stood on question of right or wrong. Two years ago he slipped and fell breaking his hip. Since that time he has been an invalid, but through all his suffering he never complained and was very patient and greatly appreciated all that was done for him. He was the father of a large family, a great lover of children, and children loved him dearly; not only his own, but all with whom he came in contact. Funeral services were held from the Danville M.E. church, conducted by Rev. John W. Carrier. Interment was made in the Danville cemetery.

    3. The Harper Advocate Harper County Thursday September 7, 1922 Sheetz--Dorsett. Miss Bertha SHEETZ and Mr. Cecil DORSETT were married at the home of the bride's parents at Danville on Sunday afternoon at four o'clock. The Rev. Melvin Dorsett, brother of the groom performing the ceremony, while Mrs. Dorsett played the Mendllsohn's wedding march. After the ceremony refreshments of pink and white brick ice cream and cake was served the guests. Mrs. Dorsett is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sheetz of Danville. She has a wide circle of friends in Harper where she attended high school, graduating with the class of 1922. Mr. Dorsett is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dorsett of this city. He attended H.S. and graduated in 1920 and is now running a Battery station on North Central Avenue. The young couple will make their home with Mrs. Dorsett's parents for the present. Guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dorsett, Mrs. Wm. Dorsett, Miss Velma BERRY, Mary WINPIGLER, Levi RYMPH, Mr. and Mrs. D.S. GOSS, Miss Jesse HERSHE, of Winfield and the McKEEVER and MOFFETT families of Danville.
