    3. The Washington Register Washington County Thursday February 25, 1904 Herbert HYLAND whose death was mentioned last week, was born June 7, 1850, in Sheffield, Lorain county, Ohio. Came to Kansas in 1871, married to Sarah Isabelle METKEYER on Nov. 14th, 1874. Seven children were born of this first union, 5 boys and 2 girls. His wife, Sarah Isabelle, died Aug. 7th, 1895. He was again married Oct. 20th, 1897, to Stella May NEWCOMB. Three girls were born of this union. Mr. Hyland united himself with the Methodist Protestant church in December 1895. The deceased leaves a wife and 10 children, also 3 brothers and 2 sisters to mourn his loss.

Payne. Thuse are two hearts united as one Hart--two souls made happy and started joyously on the road of life. May no cloud interrupt their sunshine of unalloyed joy, and may no thought ruffle their calm sea of content. The "boys" gave them and H.C. RUSSUM and bride a noisy "send off" but the latter balanced accounts by treating them to liberal portions of "spiked cider."

Merle RYMPH, uncle of the groom was officiating minister. Mr. Trollope is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D.B. Trollope of Conway Springs, and a grandson of Mrs. Luella Rymph of this city, and incidentally the first of her grandchildren to be married. Relatives from here who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. John RYMPH and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rymph and family, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Rymph, Mr. and Mr. Roach MELVIN, Mrs. Luella Rymph, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trollope and Mr. and Mrs. John McCULLY.

    3. The Harper Advocate Harper County Thursday October 11, 1928 Billy Floyd Williams. Billy Floyd, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd WILLIAMS fo this city, who only lived a short time after birth, Thursday, October 11 was laid to rest in the Harper cemetery Friday afternoon. The services were in charge of Rev. A.L. Hughes of the local Methodist church. The parents and relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their sad loss.

    3. The Harper Advocate Harper County Thursday October 11, 1928 Mila Nadine AUSTIN, 15 months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy S. Austin of 1332 Coolidge, Wichita, died in the Wesley hospital Monday. She is survived by her parents, and an infant sister, Ronella Jean. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Wichita with Rev. Elmer G. Brinkmeyer of the Fellowship Congregational Church officiating and interment will be made in the Wichita Park cemetery.--Beacon.::Mrs. Austin, little Nadine's mother was formerly Miss Fern JONES of this city and has many friends here who sympathize with them in their great loss. Little Nadine had visited here a number of time with her mother and had won a place in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was a very bright girl and had struggled hard for an education having attended Oskaloosa high school last winter. Burial was at Oskaloosa Tuesday.     3. The Valley Falls New Era Thursday September 2, 1909 Double Wedding. Wednesday evening the Methodist church was beautifully decorated, the occasion being the double wedding of Mr. Albert STEWART and Miss Elsie GRIFFITTS and Mr. Harry COOK and Miss Nell GRIFFITTS, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Day, in the presence of a church full of admiring friends and relatives. At the appointed hour the bridal party entered the church preceded by Misses Josie HATFIELD, Jessie KNOUSE, Ethel FIFER, Daisy STEWART, Bertha GRIFFITTS and Mamie HIGGS, of Lyons; Melva HANN, of Admire; and Maidie HOUGH, of Wetmore, as bridesmaids, and little Misses Mildred KERR and Margaret DEAN as flower girls; the wedding march being played by Miss Ione HAMBLE. At the altar the party was met by Rev. Day, who in a most impressive and appropriate manner pronounced the ceremony that joined the lives of these couples for aye. After the ceremony at the church a reception for the families and the bridesmaids was held at the Griffitts home. The Misses Griffitts, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. W. Griffitts have lived here all their lives and are among the most popular young ladies of the city. Mr. Cook eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fon Cook has grown to manhood here and is a young man of whom his friends have reason to be proud. Mr. Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Stewart, while not having lived here so long as the others, has proven himself an exemplary yougn man and surely the wedding bells which solemnized this occasion will never cause to ring out of tune. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart go to Baldwin, where Mr. Stewart has two more years in school to prepare himself for the ministry; and Mr. and Mrs. Cook will go to Kansas City where Mr. Cook will graduate next year inthe Kansas City Dental College. May joy, long life, and prosperity be their lot is the wish of all their friends, in which wish this paper joins.

Davis wa solemnized at the Immaculate Conception church Wednesday morning, October third with Rev. Father Kenneally officiating. The couple was attended by Miss Lucy Davis and Leo Wedman. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents to the immediate relatives, after which Mr. and Mrs. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Howell left for a motor trip through New Mexico and Colorado.

Mrs. Phillips is a graduate of the Wellington high school and at the present time is head cashier for the Wichita Gas Co. in Wichita. Mr. Phillips is a graduate of the Spivey high school and for the past few years has been a very successful teacher in Harper county. At the present time Mr. Phillips is babering in Wichita. They are home at 1117 S. Main, Wichita.

    3. The Washington Register Washington County Thursday February 18, 1904 David PARKS, died Feb. 14, 1904, aged 50 years. He was the son of Wm. Parks, deceased, who was an early settler in this county. The deceased was removed to the asylum in 1890, where he has since been confined. The remains were brought to this city for interment. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, Wednesday, at 10 a.m., Dr. Geo. Hageman officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery. The relatives have a large circle of sympathizing friends.
