    3. The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday October 20, 1899 Died--Trapp. Miss Sadie TRAPP who has been sick for some time with consumption passed peacefully away, Monday. Impressive services were held at the residence of Mr. Trapp at 3 o'clock Tuesday, after which the remains were interred in Pleasant View cemetery. Rev. McConnell officaited at the services. Miss Trapp was a young lady of genial disposition and pleasant manners and was held in general esteem by the people of Oskaloosa.

Married on September 28th, 1899, at 7 o'clock, p.m., at the home of bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam'l Peppard, Mr. Herbert HIGLEY, and Miss Capitola PEPPARD, both of Oskaloosa; Rev. R.A. Thompson officiating. The wedding was attended only by the relatives and a few friends of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Higley will make their home in Oskaloosa.

The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday September 29, 1899 Mrs. Maria MERRIMAN our neighbor, friend, and mother of Robert BLAND, died in Tonganoxie the 20th of this month, and was brought here for burial. The funeral service was held at the A.M.E. church conducted by Rev. D.D. Cole. Mother Merriman has been a faithful christian since a girl. She was 86 years old. Her remains now rest in Pleasant View cemetery. (Note: This was entered in the newspaper under, Colored Folks Items, by Grace Todd.)

    3. The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday September 22, 1899 Edmonds--Perry. At 6:30 Wednesday evening Chas. H. EDMONDS and Miss Jennie PERRY were united in marriage. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents, B.F. Perry and wife, near McLouth. Rev. Jones of that beautiful burg officiated. The wedding was a very quiet affair, only relatives of the contracting parties being present. Mrs. Schwab, of Leavenworth, Mrs. Perry, of Denver and Will Edmonds of Oskaloosa, were the only guests from a distance. Mr. Edmonds and bride will settle in Oskaloosa, as the groom is already engaged in business here. Here's to a long and happy life.

    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday August 12, 1882 The sad intelligence was received here on Wednesday morning that Dr. J.M. CARPENTER, of New Lancaster, the evening previous, while laboring under a fit of insanity, had committed suicide, by cutting his throat with a razor. The doctor had been in ill health for some time past and it is supposed that was the cause of his rash deed.

    3. The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday August 5, 1882 The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. PAXSON died Tuesday morning of cholera infantum after a short illness beginning Monday night. The funeral took place Wednesday from the family residence, the remains being laid away in the cemetery northwest of the city. The breaved relatives have the sympathy of the community in their sudden affliction.

Route from Fort Scott, through the counties of Bourbon, Allen, Linn, Anderson, Coffey, Osage, to a point at or near Topeka, Shawnee county, and from thence to Lincoln, Nebraska. Estimated length of road, 280 miles. Place of business, Fort Scott. Capital stock, $4,500,000. Directors, T.L. WILSON, A.M. AYRES, I.D. BRONSON, J.M. DAVIES, L.H. GORDEN, D.H. HORNE."

    3. The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday August 25, 1899 Wm. Weishaar Drowned. Nortonville, Kan.--Aug. 21, Yesterday morning, between 11 and 12 o'clock, Wm. WEISHAAR, son of Benjamin Weishaar, was drowned in a large pond on the farm of his uncle, three miles east of Nortonville. Young Weishaar was returning home from church and in company with several other young men, stopped to bathe. All of the young men except Weishaar were good swimmers and struck out into the deep water, and in attempt to follow them, young Weishaar was seized with cramps and sinking was drowned before his companions could reach him.--Capital.

    3. The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday August 25, 1899 Nace--Peterson. Tuesday night at the beautiful hoem of the bride's parents, just northwest of the city, Mr. John P. NACE and Miss Anna PETERSON were married at 8 o'clock. There were a large number of guests present, and the decorations of the home were beautiful. The bride is one of the best known and popular young ladies in the city. For several years she was a leading saleslady in Innes' store and until recently a member of the firm of Misses Peterson & Hutt, leading milliners. The groom is a member of the firm of Innes, Nace & Hackman an done of the prominent young business men of the city. For four years he was deputy postmaster with George Innes and proved a first-class assistant. He is a son of Col. Wm. Nace of Lecompton, late county commissioner, and one of the best known farmers and stockman in the county. Mr. and Mrs. Nace will be at home to their friends in their beautfiul new home just erected by the groom on the corner of Hancok and Ohio streets after September 1st.--Lawrence Jeffersonian-Gazette.

    3. The Barnes Chief Washington County Thursday January 1, 1920 Gladys B. SWANSON was born June 1, 1888, in Cottage Hill township, and departed this life December twenty-third, 1919 at her home south of Barnes. With the exception of three years her life has been spent in or near the vicinity of her birth. In 1909 she was united in marriage to Charles BOSWELL. To them was born one son, Orville. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Waterville, Kansas, a little over two years ago. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Orville, a mother, Mrs. Emma BULL and a brother, Glen SWANSON to mourn her untimely death. Funeral services were held Friday, December twenty-six at eh Cottage Hill Methodist church. Her body was laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, east of Cottage Hill. Card of Thanks. We wish to thank our friends and neighbors also the Farmers Union, who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our beloved wife and mother. Also for the beautiful floral offerings.
