The La Cyne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday September 2, 1882 Died. ABROGAST.--In Lincoln township, Linn county, Kansas, June 6, 1882, Mr. Hugh Abrogast, aged 66 years. Also, Mrs. Nancy Abrogast, his widow, August 18, 1882, aged 62 years. The late Mr. and Mrs. Abrogast were married in Ohio in 1837. They removed to Illinois in an early day and settled in Linn county, Kansas, in 1868, where they llived up to the time of their death. About two years and a half ago they joined the United Brethren church. The funeral sermon was preached Sunday, August 27, by Elder Spencer, a United Brethren minister. They leave a large number of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
The Barnes Chief Washington County Thursday May 6, 1920 A.H. MAIN died at his home in Waterville at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon, May 4, after an illness of about two weeks. His many friends will be grieved to learn of his death. The funeral was held at Waterville Thursday the I.O.O.F. lodge of that place having charge.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry. The bride groom is a son of Mr. Ed Perdue. Mr. and Mrs. Perdue will make their home at Marysville. The Barnes Chief Washington County Thursday April 15, 1920 Sam COLLINS of Leavenworth section of the automobile license department, was in Barnes Saturday on business connected with his office. He tells us that there are 3200 car in Washington county and 249,000 in the state. Mr. Collins also says that many people do not seem to understand that each car you own must have a license. The licenses are not interchangeable. You must not take the license from one car and put it on another or you are liable to get into trouble.
The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday December 22, 1899 Shooting Affair at Perry. Perry, Kas., Dec. 21.--Special.--G.A. FOLEY, U.P. agent at Perry, was shot and killed Thursday morning, at 7 o'clock by Thos. KIRBY, proprietor of the Kirby house. Mr. Foley had been boarding with Thos. Kirby and while there seducted Mr. Kirby's 17 year old daughtter, Clara. Mr. Kirby shot Mr. Foley in his room up-stairs and Foley ran he fired a second shot as he went down the stairs and killed him dead with a third shot in front of Digg's drug store. Mr. Kirby then went to Oskaloosa and gave himself up. The body was taken to the Kirby house and laid in the dining room where an inquest was held.

The Barnes Chief Thursday March 11, 1920 Avis Marie, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer WRAY was born June 19, 1918 in Washington County, sout of Barnes and departed this life March 6, 1920, age 1 year, 8 months and 19 days. After an illness of but a few days. All that loving hands could do was done but to no avail. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, a father, mother and one sister and a host of near relatives and friends.
