    1. [KS-OLD-NEWSPAPERS] A Terrible Tragedy: QUEENA and others.
    2. Jim Laird
    3. The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday February 2, 1900 An Awful Tragedy. The news of the awful tragedy at Oklahoma City, Okla., which occurred the latter part of last week, came as a shock to many people living in this county. Tom QUEENA shot and killed his wife and then jumped fro a two story window to the ground injurying himself seriously. Mrs. Queena used to live with her parents near Winchester and was well known in Oskaloosa. Her name before marriage was Ella HOUSH. She was a daughter of Doc Housh, who is a brother to David Housh, the merchant, and Mrs. J.L. WRAY both of Oskaloosa. Ella was known as a handsome, well-behaved girl when she lived in Jefferson county and made friends wherever she went. No particulars have come from Oklahoma regarding the affair, other than that contaiined in the newspapers, but it is thought Queena's mind becmae deranged over losing a lot of money at gambling, and that in a moment of frenzy he committed the terrible deed. The tragedy leaves motherless a little child that was born as a result of the union.
