The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday April 20, 1900 Mrs. Grant MYERS, formerly Miss Evie MILLER, daughter of Cal Miller and wife, died at her parents home, near Easton, Sunday night. Funeral services were held at the Dunkard church here, of which she was a member. Revs. STOUT, KIMMEL and DESSINGER, officiating.
The Barnes Chief Washington County Thursday February 16, 1922 Johnson-Rogers. A very pretty wedding took place at the home of the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. JOHNSON of Barnes, Kansas, Sunday, February 12, when their daughter, Miss Gladys, became the bride of Erie ROGERS of Greenleaf, Kansas. The ring ceremony was used and performed by Rev. H.E. Ballon of Effingham, Kans., after which congratulations followed. The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and wore a dress of white silk crepe de chine beautifully trimmed with beads. The groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Rogers. Bothe are well and favorably known. The house was beautifully decorated in pink and white. After the wedding a three course supper was served. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Rogers and daughters, Elsie and Cordia, Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Johnson and daughters, Grace and Myrtie, and sons, Earl, Andred and Harold, Mr. and Mrs. Howard DEWESE and son, Melvin, Miss Eulah CRAIN, McKinley STOFFLE and Rev. H.E. Ballon. They will go to housekeeping on the John Jorgenson farm 3 1/2 miles southeast of Greenleaf, which the groom has rented. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers both have a large number of friends who join in wishing them much success and happiness.

The Barnes Chief Washington County Thursday December 29, 1929 James DEPEW, an old resident of Waterville dropped dead at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy GILES, Sunday evening. He had seemingly been in his ususal health all day and was sitting in his chair in the evening when he was heard to gasp and in short time breathed his last. Mr. Depew was widower and has several grown children. He has been in Barnes frequently the past two years helping dray for Mr. Zellars. It is thought that heart disease caused his death.
The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday March 24, 1883 The Journal regrests to learn of the sad death, Sunday morning, at Dodge City, of Mr. Cleland MARSHALL, son of Mrs. C.W. OLNEY, of La Cygne. Mr. Marshall was her visiting only a few weeks ago, enjoying good health, but after returning home was taken sick with small pox, from which he died. A strange thing about his death is that while in this city he expressed himself as having had a presentiment that he would not live long. Mr. Marshall was an excellent, companionable young man who had many friends in this vicinity.

Funeral services are to be held in Fredonia Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Sylvia Adella FRITCH, 74, wife of Joseph Worthy Fritch. Mrs. Fritch died Wednesday night after an extended illness. Besides the husband, four sons survive.
