The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday June 29, 1900 King-Ferguson. At high noon, Tuesday, June 19, at the residence of the bride's father, Charles King, on their goodly acred farm two miles east of the city, occurred the marriage of their daughter Nellie to Mr. R.W. Ferguson. Just at 12 o'clock, to the time of a beautiful wedding march, the blushing bride was led to the altar, where they were safely joined by an impressive ceremony, Rev. Shoptaugh officiating, after which came the usual round of congratulations. The doors of the spacious dining room were then thrown open, and all partook of the bounties of the farm. Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson will go to housekeeping.--New Era.
The Oskaloosa Times Jefferson County Friday May 25, 1900 Jake Faubion Passes Away. "Uncle Jake Faubion is dead." These are the words that were carried from lip to lip in Oskaloosa Monday. Everybody in this part of the country knew Mr. Faubion as he was a pioneer citizen having lived in Jefferson county nearly 50 years. Many knew him ony as "Uncle Jakey" He had been in poor health for a number of years and while his death was somewhat sudden it was not unexpected. He was afflicted with dropsy and that was the immediate cause of his death. He had reached the extreme old age of 80 years. Mr. Faubion was trusted and respected by everybody in the community. He was engaged in the cattle herding business during the early days. He leaves a wife and a son, who have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. He died Monday morning about 10 o'clock and his remains were interred in Plumb Grove cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Brummett officiated at the services. The funeral was largely attended.

Mendenhall, this city. The remains were taken to Ridge Far, Ill., by Mr. Thompson, for burial.

The La Cygne Weekly Journal Linn County Saturday August 4, 1883 William SMITH and Orrin REYNOLDS, two boys, took forcible possession of two chickens, July 19. Here is where the possession was nine points of the law; the cost being nothing. Wednesday, Marshal CHRITTON took the boys into Squire ATKINS' office to receive voluntary instruction in legal matters. The boys by paying $9.70, got that point of law which was lacking on the 19th.

The Barnes Chief Washington County Thursday June 15, 1922 Ray Wilson Johnson. Ray Wilson JOHNSON youngest son of Victor George and Dora Dewena Johnson was born April 3, 1918, near Grenville, New Mexico, and died June 2, 1922, at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. PARK, with whom he has made his home since the death of his mother who died when he was seven days old. He has been a sunbeam in the home. His bright, cheery, loving nature made every one love him. He will be missed by all who knew him. His four short years did not seem long enough to have him with us, but what will be our loss will be his gain, for he has gone to meet his Heavenly Father and his mother. He was laid to rest by the side of his mother in the Grenville cemetery on Saturday, June 3, 1922.

The Barnes Chief Washington County Thursday June 1, 1922 Grandma HEWELL passed away at the home of her son, R.LEIBER, at Greenleaf Monday evening, May 29. The body was taken to her old home in Missouri for burial. Grandma Hewell was a woman whom everybody loved and respected and her death will be regretted by her many Barnes friends. She was quite elderly being at the time of her death eighty-five years old.
The Barnes Chief Washington County Thursday June 1, 1922 The body of Levi EWING, son of Grant Ewing arrived in Blue Rapids Thursday from Manila, Philippine Islands, and the funeral took place at the Baptist church Sunday. He died at Manila March 5, while a soldier in the U.S. Army and the funeral was a military one.
