    3. The Holton Weekly Signal Jackson County Wednesday June 11, 1890 Death of Alfred Bowser. Alfred BOWSER, one of the earliest settlers of Jackson county, died at his home on Banner Creek, on Monday, June 9, and was interred in the Holton cemetery yesterday afternoon. Mr. Bowser pre-empted the land upon which he died. He was a good neighbor and an honorable citizen and reared a large family of children. He was sixty-three years of age.

    3. The Holton Weekly Signal Jackson County Wednesday June 4, 1890 Died. Infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. P. GRAY, at the their home, on Sunday morning at 11 a.m., May 25th, of catarrh of the brain. Little Ethel was born January 7, 1890, making her age 4 months and 19 days. She was buried at Netawaka, E.F. Boggess and Rev. Wells, of Netawaka, officiating. The entire community join in sympathy with Mr. and Mrs. Gray in their sad bereavement. E.F. Boggess.

    3. The Carbondale Post Osage County Thursday August 24, 1916 Regina Marie MAY was born July 6, 1914, and died at 2:15 Saturday morning, August 19, 1916, aged 2 years, 1 month, and 13 days. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Warden M.E. church, Rev. Clark preached the sermon. Those that attended the funeral from here were: Mr. and Mrs. H.A. TURNER and daughter, Ethel; Mr. and Mrs. Andy FINLEY, Mrs. Geo. BURNS, and Georgia; Clyde and Willie TURNER.

The bride is a daughter of Mrs. J. P. Mast and is a highly respected young woman, well known in this vicinity. Mr. Newton is from Kansas City, Kansas, and is a young man of good character and clean habits. Although he has been in this community but a comparitively short time, he has made warm friends who wish these young people much joy and happiness.--Scranton Gazette.

MILLER Thursday when their neice, Miss Helen HUTTON, was united in marriage to Mr. Ray MARKLEY of Scranton, the Rev. C.W. Martin of Topeka, officiating. Miss Maude Snyder played Mendelssohn's wedding march as the bridal pair took their places beneath the bower of green where the bride and bridesgroom stood amid rose petals.--Topeka Capital. Mrs. Markley has many friends here who join the Post in extending congratulations.

She was a cousin to Maud BEIGHTLE, who died last March of the same disease and was buried in the same cemetery. She formerly lived here.

REYNOLDS, of Circleville, a lovely and intelligent young lady. Quite a number of relatives and friends were present and after a sumptuous dinner the young couple received a number of nice and valuable presents.     3. The Carbondale Post Osage County Thursday March 30, 1916 Ray Leslie MIX was born at Overbrook, Kansas, May 24, 1904 died at Scranton, March 21, 1916, Age 11 years, 9 months and 28 days. Has been living at Scranton the past three years. Lived close to Carbondale for eight years and started his first term of school there. He attended his class at S.S. faithfully until the time of his illness. He was in the third grade at Scranton school. He was a patient little sufferer during his illness for the past six years. His funeral was held at the M.E. church, March 22d, burial in the Carbondale Cemetery.

This was a surprise to all Amy's friends at this, no one suspected that she had so much as the shadow of the conceivabilty of the possiblity of entering the conjugalrelation, before the hymeneal altar, to have the neptial knot tied in connubial bliss, as she with the man of her choice set sail on the waters of the matrimonial sea.
