The Plains Journal had the following announcement last week that will be of interest to Kismet people: Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Abbie BERGHAUS to Mr. Joe DENTON of Kismet, which took place Wednesday, January 30, 1929. Rev. Father Esser performed the ceremony at the Catholic parsonage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Berghaus. Miss Abbie is a former graduate of the Plains high school and is a well known very popular young lady among her many friends. For the past two years she has been employed at the R. Hinman store of Kismet. Mr. Denton is the son of Harry Denton. He was a student of the Salt City Business College of Hutchinson, and the past year has been employed at the R. Hinman store. Their many friends extend congratulations and best wishes. They will be make their home at Kismet.

    3. The Kismet Klipper Seward County Thursday January 17, 1929 Clifford W. Green. Clifford W. GREEN, age 45, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Green in Kismet, Tuesday morning, January 8, 1929. Funeral services were conducted at the church in Kismet Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. C.E. Koontz and interment was made in the Kismet cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Monday May 24, 1965 Denny Whalen Is Dead at 85. Osage City.--Denny WHALEN, 85, Osage City, died Sunday at the home of a son here. He was bonrn Feb. 20, 1880 at Osage City and was a life long resident here. He was a retired farmer and coal miner. Mr. Whalen was a member of the St. Patricks Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, James Whalen, Ernest Whalen and Donald Whalen, a daugther, Mrs. Katherine BURGER and a brother, Robert Whalen, all of Osage City; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church here with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Osage City. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m today at McElfresh and Son Mortuary here.

    3. The Brewster Gazette Thomas County Friday April 19, 1889 Died.--On April 16th, of consumption, W.H. BARNES, aged 26 years. Mr. Barnes was a brother of J.M. Barnes, of this township. He came out here to visit his brother about two months ago, thinking that this climate would benefit him. He was preparing to start for western part of Colorado, when he began to grow rapidly worse. Mr. J.M. Barnes started Wednesday to take the remains back to Brown county, the former home of the deceased, for burial.

    3. The Brewster Gazette Thomas County Friday March 29, 1889 Died.--Last Sunday morning, of pneumonia, Mrs. Clarence CONKLIN, aged about 22 years. She leaves a husband, and other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. The funeral was held Tuesday, and the remains were interred in the cemetery at Colby.

Mr. Clark is originally form New York and is a highly esteemed and wealthy young man. He is to be congratulated upon having captured such a winning, handsome, intelligent little Kansas girl. Miss Cora has a host of warm friends in Holton who wish her a long and happy married life. The happy couple left for a visit in the east. The proclamation of the president is being prepared and will be signed as soon as he returns to Washington.
