    3. The Holton Weekly Signal Jackson County Wednesday October 22, 1890 The news of the death of Wm. McGREW, son of Mr. and Mrs. N.L. McGrew, of this city was received last Wednesday. It was caused by a team and wagon running over him. The remains were conveyed to the M.E. church from the Rock Island train last Friday where services were held, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Holton cemetery.

    3. The Holton Weekly Signal Jackson County Wednesday October 22, 1890 Died.--At his home one mile northeast of Netawaka, Peter Christensen, of abscess of the liver, October 15th. He was only sick for a few days and was not considered dangerous even an hour before he died. He was an exemplary citizen, a kind neighbor and a loving husband. Rev. Woodburn conducted the funeral services which were sad and impressive. He leaves a wife and a large concourse of friends to mourn his loss.

    3. The Kismet Klipper Seward County Thursday July 25, 1929 Alvin Eugene Thompson. Alvin Eugene THOMPSON, the three months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Thompson, died at the Liberal hospital early last Friday morning. The baby had been ill for the past three weeks and was taken to the hospital Thursday night. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Kismet United Brethren Church with Rev. Bessie Koontz in charge. Burial was in the Kismet cemetery. Alvin Eugene Thompson, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Thompson was born April 4, 1929, and was called back to the God who gave him July 19, 1929, being at the time of his death only 3 months and 15 days. The little fellow had been suffering about two weeks with erysipelas, but it was hoped and thought he was getting better until he took a change for the worse Thursday evening. He was taken to the hospital and all that could be done was done for him but to no avail. He leaves to mourn his going his father, mother, two sisters, Mildred and Iva, and two brothers, Clarence and Ralph. Two infant sisters, Margaret and Blanche preceded him to the better land. Card of Thanks. We wish to take this opportunity of thanking our friends and neighbors for their kindness during the illness and death of our little son, Alvin Eugene. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Thompson and family.

The ring ceremony was used. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.D. Ormiston and has been a very popular young lady, having attended the Kismet high school the past two years. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Hennage and is engaged in farming northwest of Kismet.
