    3. The Independent Daily Reporter Montgomery County Monday January 23, 1911 Old Settler Died Friday. Cyrus Ringle Of Lehunt Died At County Hospital. Death Was Due to Bowel Trouble and Was Very Sudden--Funeral Tomorrow at One O'Clock. Friday evening marked the passing of another old settler, into the land "from which no man returns." Cyrus RINGLE, 57 years old, who formerly owned a store at Crane station and later one at LeHunt, died at the Montgomery couty hospital about nine o'clock Friday evening of bowel trouble. He was taken to the hospital Friday noon, from his home in LeHunt and died a few hours later. His death was very sudden. Mr. Ringle has lived in this county for years, and is a member of the Modern Woodman lodge. He leaves a wife, daughter, and two sons. One son, Homer, lived at LeHunt with his parents and the other Harry, resides at Santa Rita, New Mexico. The daughter, Mrs. Frank GOODSON, lives at LeHunt. Harry is in Wellington today and will arrive in the city tonight. The funeral service will be held at the First Methodist church at LeHunt tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock and interment will be made in Mount Hope cemetery.

    3. The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Saturday January 21, 1911 Divorce Granted. Lillie May Morgan Was Given One From Husband. Young Woman Had Sad Story to Tell Judge Flannely and Divorce Was Not Long in Coming. A divorce was granted Mrs. Lillie May MORGAN of this city this morning by Judge Flannely. It was indeed a sad story the young woman had to tell the Judge of how, after her marriage her husband he beat and whipped her, how after a few months he tried to get her to lead an invirtuous life, and later drove her away from home. "He knocked and kicked me around so that I could not stand it" she told the Judge. "When he drove me away from home, I went to my step mother's, and he sold all the furniture and left." She said she did not know where he was a the present time. While in Independence Morgan worked at the paper mill and cement plant. Mrs. Morgan's father, Miles OSBORN, lives in Independence at present.

    3. The Holton Signal Jackson County Thursday October 1, 1922 Verdie SIMPSON, daughter of J.T. and M.E. Simpson was born in Holton, Kansas, March 12, 1884 and departed this life, October 15, 1922, aged 38 years, 7 months, and 3 days. Her entire life was spent in Holton and she received her education in the schools here. She was married in 1903 To Fred HUDDLE. A little son preceded her in death, the result of an accident, by severe scalding. As a child she went to church and Sunday school and professed faith in Christ and was baptised during the pastorate of Rev. Ryerson. She has been an invalid 12 years and has endured great suffering during that period. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her mother and sister, Mrs. Jas CROUCH of Des Moines, Iowa and four half brothers, Milo, of Holton; Wendell of Pueblo, Colo., and Clarence and Henry of California. Funeral services were held from the Gabel & Porterfield chapel Monday afternoon at 2:00 conducted by Rev. L.F. Waring. Music was furnished by the M. E. choir and interment was in the Holton cemetery.

The past year she has been employed in a photographic studio in Topeka. Her attractive personality has won her many friends for her wherever she has gone. Mr. Witt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Witt of Kansas City, is a veteran of the World War. He has made many friends here when visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Witt will be at home to their friends after November 1, at Kansas City, Mo.
