The Holton Signal Jackson County Thursday December 7, 1922 Adah BRADLEY, the 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Bradley, died Tuesday night of peritonitis following an operation for appendicitis. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church this afternon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. L.F. Waring. Burial in the Holton cemetery. There will be services Tuesday evening at the Episopal church by Arch Deacon Smith.
The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Monday February 13, 1911 Edna May FUQUA, the 12-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Fuqua, of Caney, has died of paralysis. Last April the little girl fell down the steps of one of the school buildings and since then she had suffered from partial paralysis. She was sitting in a chair when the final stroke came and died within two hours.

They were Charles C. BAKER, aged 65 years and Sarah SANDERS, aged 60. They were married here and will go to Coffeyville to make their home.
The Independence Daily Reporter Montgomery County Thursday February 9, 1911 Died Suddenly Yesterday Morning. Mrs. Elizabeth Myers Had Heart Failure Yesterday. Mrs. Elizabeth MYERS who has been making her home with her son, W.A. MYERS, dropped dead yesterday morning from heart trouble. Her death came as a shock to her family, who have only lived here five weeks. She had made many friends during her short stay, and all extend sympathy in the sad bereavement. Mrs. Myers was 77 years old last September. The funeral will be held at the family residence, 1105 North Ninth Street tomorrow. The son, W.A. Myers is agent for the Rowley Manufacturing company and travels through the country.

Died, January 26, of a severe hemmorrhage of the lungs, Mrs. Emma Coleman HUTCHINSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Coleman, of Prairie district, number 57. We learn that Mrs. Hutchinson had been sick but a few hours and that her mother who lives seven miles form her only reached her bedside a few hours before death claimed her. A husband and three children survive to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother.

The Journal Free Press Osage County Wednesday July 19, 1944 Death of J.M. McCracken. J.M. McCRACKEN passed away at 3:00 a.m. Thursday July 6, 1944, following an illness of several months. John Mitchell McCracken, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCracken, was born December 5, 1857 in Orange County, Indiana, and at the time of his death had attained the aged o f86 years, 7 months and 1 day. He came to Kansas some 55 years ago, where he established a home and was engaged in farming and stock raising all of his life until recent years when failing health and advance age forced him to retire from active work. Mr. McCracken was united in marriage to Sarah MAY, who passed away a few years ago. The surviving relatives are his children, Walter McCracken of Wichita; Earl McCracken, Mrs. Arthur ALLISON, Mrs. James CASEY and Leslie McCracken all of this community; 11 grandchildren, his brothers, and sisters, Chas. McCracken, Greenwood, Calif.; Mrs. John FLICK, Parlin, Colo.; Mrs. Chas. JENKINS, Mrs. George FELTNER and Wm. McCRACKEN, of Lyndon community. Mr. McCracken was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Brethren church, where the funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. A.C. Tudor. The interment was in the Alpine Cemetery. A son, Floyd McCracken, died in infancy. Mr. McCracken was a kind and loving father and took a great interest in his home and family and had a cheerful dispostion. He was stricken with paralysis in October 1943 and had been confined to his bed since November. He was a lovingly cared for by his daughter, Mrs. James Casey. Music was furnished by a quartet of mixed voices with Miss Vera Benton presiding at the piano. The pallbearers were Frank Schlageter, John Roakey, Jame Beighlie, John Vaughn, Wallace Plaunty, Ivan Lafferty, Lynn Michaels and Elmo Soderstrom. His three grandsons, Pvt. Roy and Bernard, who are serving int he armed forces in France and Fireman first class, Ora McCracken, somewhere in the South Pacific were unable to be present for the funeral.--Lyndon Herald.
