You have to really be creative when searching names in the Census'. Most people assume they butchered names on Ellis Island (go to www.castlegarden.org for a great immigration tool too!!) I found Krugers spelled Dreger, Krooger, Kriger etc. Look for variances and if that doesnt work pin-point a certain person (most uncommon first name and birth date) and hunker down for the night searching anything and everything look for similar family members, immigration dates, occupation etc. Also I dont think we are any relation (atleast not since arriving from Germany). Oh and like the other person pointed out Europe changed so much NEVER search under that even if it was germany both years sometimes they still end up writting something screwy. Lets face it out ancestors couldnt make this easy for us at all!!
