Surnames: KRAMER, KRUGER, TOMLINSON Classification: Biography Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TZo.2ACIB/228 Message Board Post: "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Tuesday, February 16, 1915 MRS. SOPHIE KRUGER IS 93. With four children, eighteen grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren to do her honor, Mrs. Sophie KRUGER will celebrate her ninety-third birthday anniversary today at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. Milton TOMLINSON, 3435 East Sixtieth Street. She was born Sophie KRAMER in Hamel, Hanover, Germany, February 16, 1822. For five years she was in the personal service of the Grand Duchess of Mechlenburg-Schwerin. She was married September 27, 1848, to Henry L. KRUGER, a nephew of Oom Paul KRUGER of South African fame. In 1870 the couple removed to St. Louis, where they had been preceded by two children. Mr. KRUGER was a paving contractor and died in St. Louis, November 13, 1895, since which time Mrs. KRUGER has made her home with her daughter. Mrs. KRUGER bears her years lightly. She is in full command of all her faculties, an industrious reader who follows the course of the European war closely, and a diligent seamstress, making her own clothing, weaving rugs and turning out quantities of fine lace and embroideries. The birth anniversary is to be celebrated quietly, only a few neighbors and women of the Swope Park Club participating with the members of her family who are in Kansas City. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== Go to the Jackson County, Missouri Message Board to see births, deaths, and marriages in the Kansas City, MO & Kansas City, KS areas. http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson When there: Do an "Advanced Search" and enter the surname (all lower case letters) on the "Find Messages Containing" line.
