Thankyou so much for theoffer, I have subsequently found that my ancestor came to South Africa Circa 1650 from Germany! And all my life I thought we were of Hollandse descent... Shows you how the local history can confuse your real ancestory.... However, I do know that Van Niekerk is apparently Hollandse, and I say Apparently, because who knows what I find when I venture down that path of success, if ever.
